Berlino, 29 nov – Colpevoli di essere lì. La giurisprudenza tedesca compie un altro passo verso lo stravolgimento del diritto: un 95enne è stato condannato a quattro anni di carcere per concorso in omicidio pur non avendo compiuto materialmente alcun delitto. Si tratta dell’ex ufficiale delle SS Oskar Gröning. La condanna risale a un anno fa, ma ora la Corte suprema federale tedesca ha confermato la sentenza. I giudici hanno dato ragione al tribunale di Lüneburg, che un anno fa ha ritenuto Gröning corresponsabile di 300mila prigionieri ammazzati nel campo nel periodo in cui lui lavorava lì (tra il 1942 e il ’45).
Nulla ha provato che l’uomo abbia avuto una qualche responsabilità in qualche delitto specifico (egli svolgeva le mansioni di contabile): è bastata la sua presenza nel campo polacco per farlo condannare. La svolta nella giurisprudenza sull’Olocausto si è avuta nel 2011, con il verdetto contro John Demjanjuk, la guardia di Sobibor, condannato per concorso in omicidio di 28mila ebrei per il solo fatto di essere nel campo. Demjanjuk, del resto, è morto di vecchiaia poco dopo. Recentemente aveva fatto notizia il processo a Hubert Zafke, anch’egli 95enne, alla sbarra per essere stato infermiere ad Auschwitz.
È comunque singolare che una tale accelerazione arrivi a tanti anni dalla fine della guerra, con una foga vendicativa che sarebbe apparsa fuori luogo subito dopo la guerra, quando pure le ferite del conflitto erano più fresche. Quasi come se questa società avesse bisogno di sempre nuovi “mostri nazisti” da processare…

Va da sé che l’espressione aveva un significato esclusivamente geografico, e il contesto ci sembra assolutamente non fraintendibile. Non esistendo alcuna scuola storiografica – ufficiale o meno, revisionista o meno – che sostenga che Auschwitz fosse un campo a gestione polacca, la precisazione ci sembrava decisamente superflua. Un contabile di mafiosi anche non uccide nessuno. Tuttavia, egli partecipa nel crimine. E questo articolo fa un passo verso la manipolazione della verità: non ci sono stati “campi polacchi”, c’erano solo campi di concentramento nazisti in Polonia occupata dai tedeschi.
C’era un campo tedesco in territorio polacco sotto occupazione tedesca durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Uso il termine “tedesco” perché c’e la gente che pensa che nazisti sono piccoli uomini in uniformi verdi. Prego correggere e ricordare che non c’erano mai i campi polacchi.
Non sono d’accordo con la Vostra spiegazione. I campi di concentramento in Germania, Austria o Cecoslovakia sono chiamati campi nazisti, ma solo questi in territorio polacco si chiamano “campi polacchi”.
Not everyone is an expert in history, and there are people who may misinterpret “campo polacco” because they don’t know the historical context. Especially considering that in the internet there are plenty of lies and questionable sources of information, so some, especially young people, can get confused.
As such, I support the request to change the phrase into a more unambiguous one such as “nazi camp” or “nazi German camp”. Many news sites agree with Polish League Against Defamation’s reasoning, so it shows that it’s not an ungrounded claim.
